Frederick Follows Ltd are manufacturers of electro-discharge machining tools called EDM electrodes. These tools are used during the electro-discharge machining process known as spark erosion. A current is passed through the electrode in order to displace material from a workpiece, to produce intricate shapes, logos, product codes etc. The types of tooling produced using the EDM process range from hot forging dies and die casting tools to plastic injection moulding tools.
The materials used to produce our EDM electrodes are predominantly – copper, copper tungsten and carbon graphite. We can also take a customer’s forging dies and plastic mould tooling etc. and directly machine the desired shape, logo or product/date codes into them.
